Remote Learning Timetable

To our Alamanda Families,

Alamanda College is READY for online learning and we have been for some time after successful trials at the end of Term 1!

Our teachers have been very busy planning and preparing our virtual school ready for the upcoming period of remote learning. Please be aware that Schoolbox is our primary virtual school platform and parent communication tool. If you haven’t done so, please sign up to the relevant parent communication pages, as this is to help you to keep abreast of the virtual school. Logins were resent just prior to the end of term 1.

If you are needing some assistance in signing up to the parent communication pages, please watch this Youtube video to go through a step-by-step process: https://youtu.be/aTvsUSZyYms

We are all very excited and ready to see our new virtual school take flight next week.

This will be our updated Remote Learning Timetable for our virtual school for all primary students:

  • 9:00 – 10:00 Period 1
  • 10:00 – 10:10 Recess/Brain Break
  • 10:10 – 11:10 Period 2
  • 11:10 – 11:20- Recess # 2/Brain Break
  • 11:20 – 12: 20 Period 3

Students will also have four hours of specialist subjects throughout the week which will include Art, Physical Education, LOTE and a rotational subject of either Robotics, Drama, Food Technology or Music. The individualised timetable for these classes will be displayed on your child/ren’s class pages on Schoolbox by Sunday the 12th of April. The daily schedule will be posted on class pages each afternoon, ready for the following days learning.

Our Secondary students will operate as per their normal secondary timetable with a 9:00 am start time and 3:15 pm finishing time.

As part of the Virtual Schooling Program for both Primary and Secondary students, teachers will introduce and conclude each hour via a Webex session, where teachers will be online and available, ready to answer any student queries in regards to the lesson.

After receiving Department directives sent on Thursday evening, we have been working to organise and ensure we are implementing all priorities and following all guidelines in order to keep everyone safe. Tomorrow (Sunday) we will send you a package of information – please keep an eye on emails, SchoolBox, SkoolBag and Instagram for this information.

Thank you for your patience as we head into these unprecedented times.

Together we can!
