The development of the Alamanda Outdoor Education program aims to provide students with rich and varied experiences that will develop and strengthen students connections to the outdoor natural environment. The program aims at creating a framework for students to experience positive relationships with others and the environment through the interaction with the natural world, facilitated throughout outdoor learning.
Outdoor learning engages students in practical and active learning experiences in natural environments and settings.
These learning experiences typically take students out of their classroom into challenging and complex natural settings, developing their skills and understanding to navigate and move safely and competently while valuing a positive relationship with the natural environment.
Alamanda students have the opportunity to explore activities such as Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Hiking, Recreational Cycling, MTB Riding and Fishing with the overall goal to become lifelong outdoor educational participants.
