Prep J, K and L planned and made a mini community where they made a Gallery, School, Supermarket, Hospital and Library where students created everything needed for the community to run. They then got to participate in developmental play where they had a go at playing a role in their community.
The Preps have also been exploring what money is, the value of it and identifying Australian coins and notes. Students of Prep E and H were able to develop a community shop. Prep H showed their creativity by building a toy using arts and crafts. They then were able to add it to a shop table. Students were then given the opportunity to price their toy and add a description. Using play money they were able to collaborate and play ‘shops’ with four students being the shop keepers and other students buying the toys using pretend Australian Money.
